Recommendations for shooting in the mountains
The rule of the golden hour
This rule is very important when shooting a mountain landscape.
Start taking pictures for an hour before dawn. It was at this time that the rays of the sun transform the world; all nature acquires extraordinary beauty.
If you do not have time to keep within this hour, the sun’s rays will become direct, as a result of which the contrast will increase and the rigidity of the shadows will appear.
The same applies to the hour before sunset. After the sun sets below the horizon, you have two hours for great shots.

Photographing mountains from the road
Photos from the road – the most standard and banal way of shooting mountains. Despite this, you can try to make such a picture that will stand out from thousands of similar ones.
For a start, you should remember that the most memorable shots are obtained when photographing from an unusual angle. By the way, this applies to all styles of shooting.
As for the photo from the road, the road itself should not be included in the frame (unless it is different in its beauty).
It is better to leave it, and go as far as possible. Then, even if part of the road gets into the photo, it will no longer look standard and boring.
It is also advisable to use the road as a line directing the viewer’s eye.

Angle selection
For a truly unique photo, try to climb as high as possible. This will be the key to a really special perspective.
In general, to choose the right angle, think about the colors.
We look down on them – this is an ordinary perspective, which does not fascinate the photo. But if you lower the camera a little lower (at least at the level of the buds), you will look at the flower from a new point. And the picture from this angle is really capable of impressing.
Remember this example when you are going to shoot mountains.
What to shoot a mountain landscape?
To create a masterpiece, it is not necessary to purchase expensive photographic equipment. This task will handle the most ordinary camera.
And fit both SLR and mirrorless entry-level. In addition, an interesting shot can also be made on a superzoom and compact (of course, the quality of the picture will suffer, but with favorable lighting it will not be very noticeable).
The main thing in photographic equipment is the ability to apply it. And the level of optics is more important than the quality of the camera.
An ultra wide lens in the mountains is not needed – 28 mm is enough.
A telephoto lens is also required; focal length range should be from 100 to 400 millimeters.
If you are equipped with such optics and listen to the advice given, the mountain landscape will certainly surrender to you.
