First mobile photo
Currently, any smartphone is equipped with a pair of cameras, with which you can take good photos, record video and make a video call to almost anywhere in the Earth.
However, this was not always the case: more recently, in order to take a picture, people had to carry uncomfortable massive cameras and cameras. But that all changed when programmer from the USA Philippe Kahn designed the world’s first device for mobile photography.
The appearance of the first mobile snapshot
The date of the first mobile photo is June 11, 1997. Its author is Philip Kahn. The man, while in the hospital in Santa Clara, took a picture of the daughter, who had just appeared, and then shared a picture with his relatives.
Today, no one is surprised by such photos: every day several million photos are taken, flying all over the planet, using mobile phones. But in 1997, people had no idea about anything like that.
The invention of Philip Kahn
While his wife Kana was in the maternity ward, the man was left to himself. And since his work was related to the apparatus for transmitting images, the thought came to him to create a similar construction right here and now.
Philip had only a simple camera, a mobile phone and a laptop. Consequently, it was from these devices that he proposed to design an absolutely new device. And he succeeded.
By the time his daughter was born, Kahn had created the world’s first camera-equipped phone.
Of course, he was completely different than now. It was a cumbersome installation, representing a camera connected to a mobile phone. The process of their synchronization was carried out at the expense of the program code recorded by a man on a laptop.
Despite the fact that Kan’s invention was still very “raw”, it managed to make the first mobile photo, as well as transfer it to two thousand people. Thereby changing the world.
The fate of the invention
After some time, Philip perfected his invention, and three years later, Sharp used its technology to develop and produce a debut phone equipped with a camera.
Some more years passed, and the similar equipment became already universal.
The invention of the programmer Philip Kahn had the most serious impact on communication between people; laid the foundation for numerous smartphones, applications for transferring images; was the impetus for the development of the whole industry.
